For those of you tossing and turning until WPIX names its new traffic reporter, this is your big day!
Tuned In has learned exclusively that Channel 11 has hired Kaitlin Monte for morning traffic duty. Viewers may recognize Monte from her work on WNBC’s Weekend Today in New York. She has hosted the interactive trivia segments since 2012. She’s also been on SNY’s Mets Insider.
Before TV, Monte was a beauty queen. Representing New York, she placed second in the 2012 Miss America pageant.
We’re told the leggy brunette will begin at PIX sometime next month.

The ship is being steered by a new captain. While the waters may be rough, news director Mark Effron has made his first hire since joining WPIX last month.
Julie Grauert is the station’s new morning traffic reporter. Channel 11 has been in the market for a traffic reporter since Steve Villanueva returned to his weather roots on WNBC last summer.
Grauert cut her reporting teeth in New York at WNYW/Channel 5. She’ll handle a daily split schedule. After doing traffic on the PIX Morning News from 4 to 6 a.m., Grauert becomes general assignment reporter for the 5 and 10 p.m. broadcasts.

“Julie has a strong local news background. She brings a reporter’s inquisitiveness to traffic coverage, and that will benefit our viewers,” Effron said in a statement.
